Jeweller Needed System To Handle Both Retail & Workshop
Grant Wishart is the owner and manager of Wishart Jewellers, a manufacturing jeweller based in Glenelg, SA since 1953. Grant had seen significant growth in his business in recent years, and now needed a more professional business system to help more effectively manage this growth.
There were a number of key decision criteria which Grant considered when making his decision. A key consideration of the selected solution was the capability to manage not just retail sales, but also customer accounts, the workshop and sub-contractors and laybys and gift cards. The system also needed to support customer loyalty, not only to reward customers for repeat purchases at the store, but also to facilitate marketing campaigns to those customers. Finally, an accurate and easy to use stock management system which would track purchases, sales and any adjustments of the key product lines to enhance the reduction of slow moving stock and improved profitability, was considered crucial.
Wishart Jewellers now uses SpeedyPOS software, running on POS2030 touch-screen terminals, with barcode scanners and receipt printers. The system had to be easy to use, and Grant is delighted that his staff have picked it up very quickly – including being able to manage the workshop as well as customer accounts.
